After dinner we walked out into the night. It was wonderful for me and my dachshund girlfriends to run around a meadow in the darkness with the stars shining. And then, midnight, my birthday! "Happy Birthday, dear Joschi..." Today Ulli first read me all the greetings and cards I received on my birthday. It was really moving. Oh, my God, I didn't realize how many friends I have out there in the whole world! I admit, sometimes Ulli says, and I nearly think tears come into his eyes, "My little dog JOSCHI, meanwhile you are a star, you are the most decorated dog", but that means nothing to me, I've always remained the ordinary cute doggie next door... Then Ulli took me out for a long walk to a small lake where I used to take bath and go swimming around. It's hot in Germany right now, and I don't like too much sun, but in the water it is fine. Some of my friends came with us, my Husky girlfriend Lisa and my first big love Sharon, the Tibetan terrier. I met three new dogs right there, a crossbreed of Shi-Tzu and Yorkie, and a Labrador, and a very young poodle. He was shaved all over, well, I would like to get off my thick coat too, but that ain't possible. Ulli says: "You have to suffer for your beauty." In the late afternoon I lay down in Ulli's studio and watched him painting. He's just busy painting pictures of me and my two girlfriends. It's not that similar, but I can recognize us... In the evening Ulli offered me another stroll. I refused it. "No, thank you!" I prefered to sleep and dream, I'm only a little dog, not a large one with long legs. "Pass me over one more dog cake, Ulli!" - "Thanks!" Well, now I'm 5 years old, I'm tired and happy, I enjoy my life... |
